Rawa Island

An Unpredictable runaway

Crystal clear blue sea, white sand in a small island located estimately 30 minutes away from Mersing Jetty, Johor. It was a sudden trip booking in just less than 3 weeks away, we've got Alangs Rawa package which includes ACCOMMODATION of a 3 days 2 night, with total of 2 breakfast, 2 lunch, 2 dinner and a 2 way fast boat transfer into the island. There wasn't much beach activities there, all we do was kayaking and snorkelling, with equipment provided by the resort, free of charged.

Booking can only be made through emails, with their information written in their website, alangsrawa. Reply can be vary from an hour to 2 days. Their crew in the island were really friendly and helpful, and it is cool to see their "mascot" beagle, Daisy came to welcome us while we reach the island.

Rooms are quite clean, but basic, with towels, toilet papers, water heater for shower, mosquito repellent were also provided in the room. No air-cond, no water kettle, no hair dryer, and the water for shower is sea water, so it's salty. We booked the beach front room, on a weekday package of RM680 + 10% service charge + 6% gst. The view is fantastic, just right in front of the beach.

Foods were pretty salty, but I still like their fish and prawn. The last meal were so full-filling, but too much for us!! Look at the portion! The chef really put an effort on it! Looks good, but can't finish.... They say, the lesser the people, the better the food.... haha.... yea, we went on a weekday, and the last batch of people just when off in the morning.

Kayaking and snokelling were all by our own, fishes and corals could be found more at the other side of the resort, which is in front of rawa resort.

Going to Mersing from Kuala Lumpur was a little inconvenient, as the earliest bus was 9am, and it takes about 5 hours to reach Mersing, so we couldn't take that schedule as we need to reach Mersing jetty by 12pm for the boat transfer. So we can only take the night bus at 11.30 pm. Reaching at 5 am, we walk about 15 minutes to jetty and have a breakfast along the way in a 24 hours mamak stall, Restaurant Syed Ali

Leaving Mersing, bus schedule were just right, 3pm boat transfer back to jetty and 5pm bus back to KL. We wasn't that lucky, that the transnational bus were faulty half way, and we waited in the bus for about an hour and continue our journey, and reach KL, TBS after 12am.

Booking the bus in advance can be done at many websites, such as ; http://www.busonlineticket.com/ , but transnational schedule is only out in about 2 weeks before the coming month.

Rawa, a nice place, to sleep on the white sand, float on the blue ocean, nice people...
Oh yea, my friend says she saw dolphin !!!!! or is it an april fool ?!
